Left Hand Free | Alt-J

Alt-J just released a new music video for their latest single, Left Hand Free. I’m loving the feel good, summer vibe! Perfect for the dog days of August.

Alt-J have recently posted on their Instagram that they are rehearsing for their fall tour. Check out the full list of dates here! Their second studio album, This Is All Yours, is due to be released September 22nd!

Barrier Junkies' Totally Absurd Lollapalooza Predictions

  • Temples: *The band walk onstage and throw a bucket of glitter on the crowd. They exit the stage.*
  • Arctic Monkeys: *Alex Turner walks onstage. Grabs mic. Does face thing. Drops mic. Leaves. Iconic.*
  • Krewella: *Attracts the biggest audience of the entire festival. Ironically.*
  • Outkast: *Sing "Hey Ya" on repeat for their entire set*
  • Foster The People: *Spends their soundcheck blowing up inflatables to throw to the crowd instead of checking their mics.*
  • Jenny Lewis: *Walks on stage, pretends to 'adjust herself' and exits stage-left*
  • The 1975: *The entire crowd goes shirtless.*
  • CHVRCHES: *Lauren Mayberry tells a well-constructed though irrelevant story while Iain and Martin play ping-pong.*
  • Skrillex: *Only plays acoustic material.*
  • Lorde: *Parachutes from helicopter onto the stage. Lands silhouetted behind a sheer screen kneeling, head down with one hand raised in the air. Alex Turner drops a mic from the helicopter and Lorde catches it without looking and begins singing Team as her opener. Lights flash to the beat.*

It’s TOMORROW!  Here is my Lollapalooza playlist with the artists I’m most excited to see.  I won’t get to see them all, but as long as I see a handful of them I’ll be happy as a clam.

My brain still hasn’t processed the fact that Lolla is upon us, and I fully expect to wake up any minute late for work with snow and sub zero temperatures just like the last few months haven’t even happened.

Happy fest-ing everyone!

While goofing around with my new tool for discovering even more musical obsessions, my try at a Sam Smith Radio on iTunes Radio spun a fab ditty by R&B/Electronica artist, Sampha.

If you know anything about me you’ll know I’m a sucker for anything with prominent piano, so have at it. Check “Too Much” above and follow Sampha on Twitter, Soundcloud, and Facebook when you got had the time.

kimbramusic:

For those of you who weren’t able to see us play on our one show of the Golden Electric tour, I found some recorded audio of us playing 90s Music live from our show in Melbourne. Damn, we had so much fun translating this jam live! Decided to mess around with it a bit and get the crowd head banging with us during this prog as outro. Wish there was video of this. Such a good time. I can’t wait to get back on tour with my amazing band so we can bust these songs live again. In the meantime check out this snippet. One ticket to riff-city. Chur.

Kimbra posts live snippet of 90’s Music and raves about her bandmates, cannot wait for this girl to tour here again!!
